Thank You:
To all who call others to check in on them and to share our emails and devotions.

Today’s Devotion:
I have written today’s devotion.  I hope it encourages you.

Shalom,

Scripture – Romans 8:18
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us.

Thoughts
I think Paul is speaking eschatologically here, that is, regarding end times.  But I choose this verse because it contrasts whatever our current struggles are with a sure hope that the future is filled with promise.  Richard Gula, in his book “To Walk Together Again,” writes, “The disposition of hope is rooted in the fundamental biblical truth that all possibilities for life and its future are under the care and goodness of God.  The good news of Christian faith is that God’s love is constant and undefeatable.”

This perspective does not promise lives free of challenges, struggles, suffering and pain.  It places, instead, confidence in a deep acceptance of God’s unrelenting goodness and love.

Prayer
Even in the midst of challenges, O Lord, help us to see signs of your unrelenting goodness and love, inspiring us to trust that such goodness and love eventually transforms everything.  Amen.
