For Such A Time As This 042020 – David Steele
To the Good Folk of the Palmyra Church of the Brethren,
There are no new announcements or requests for prayer today.
For our devotion, I am sharing a video message that was just posted from our COB General Secretary, David Steele.
In his words of encouragement, among other important thoughts, David expresses gratitude to pastors. I join him, giving thanks to the many pastors of PCOB who are leading and feeding us during these times. I am thankful for the preachers who have guided us in recent weeks. I am thankful for our church leaders and staff who are working creatively and faithfully every day. I am thankful for our retired pastors, as they share their thoughts and hold us all in prayer. I am thankful to all who have a pastoral heart, ordained or not, deacon or not, leader and teacher or not, who are providing care and support. All of us are pastors, to one another, to our friends, and within our families. Martin Luther’s words can be reframed to: “the pastorhood of all believers.” You are all “beacons of hope and encouragement.” You are all “reflecting the resurrection hope of Jesus within our community.” I am thankful to be a pastor among such an amazing congregation of pastors.
Shalom,
Dennis
